Reflection

Since I entered international school, making speech was one of my biggest challenge in the school life. As I already have several experiences bombing my speeches, I tried to make my speech keep in its way. As I concentrated too much only on the flow, I made several mistakes. As many people pointed out, I didn't have much variety in the tone and speed. Throughout the entire speech, I spoke in monotone. As a result of making eye contacts more than I can afford, there were several pauses, which broke the fluidity of the speech. Lastly, my pronunciation wasn't clear enough that many classmates had hard time understanding what I was talking about. As most of the comments were on the verbal section of the speech, I should put extra attention in verbal section.

Although there were several positive comments on the organization of the speech, many people pointed out that this issue wouldn't be interesting and applicable to the KIS students. "After hearing the speech, it was interesting but I don’t think any one would really want to wear uniform because it is an International School and students like to express their personality." "It was interesting, and possibl[y] more applicable than many of the other speeches given, but unless uniforms look like those in Harry Potter, I disagree! :]" So when I choose the topic, I should think one more time in other students' perspective.
